Azure Migration Guide | Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework

Why Migrate to Microsoft Azure?

Microsoft Azure is the cloud platform of choice for enterprises deeply invested in the Microsoft ecosystem (Windows Server, SQL Server, .NET). Azure offers seamless hybrid cloud capabilities, industry-leading security, and unparalleled integrations with Microsoft 365 and the Power Platform.

The Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF)

At TechnoPlanet Enterprise, we strictly adhere to the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure. This framework provides proven guidance to align your business, people, and technology strategies.

The Azure Migration Phases

1. Strategy & Plan

Define business justifications and expected outcomes. We inventory your digital estate using Azure Migrate, rationalize the portfolio, and create an actionable adoption plan.

2. Ready

Prepare your cloud environment. We deploy the Azure Landing Zone, ensuring networking, identity (Entra ID), governance, and security are configured to enterprise standards.

3. Adopt (Migrate & Innovate)

Execute the migration using Azure Site Recovery or Azure Database Migration Service. We also help modernize apps using Azure App Service or AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).

4. Govern & Manage

Implement Azure Policy and Microsoft Defender for Cloud for ongoing compliance. We establish operational baselines using Azure Monitor to ensure reliability and performance.

The Importance of an Azure Landing Zone

The Azure Landing Zone is the output of a multi-subscription Azure environment that accounts for scale, security governance, networking, and identity. It enables application migration and greenfield development at enterprise scale.

Network Topology: Hub and spoke architectures utilizing Azure Virtual WAN and Azure Firewall.
Identity and Access Management: Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) integrated with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
Management Group Structure: Organizing subscriptions to efficiently apply Azure Policies at scale.
